Acrylics

Acrylic plastic refers to a family of synthetic (man-made) plastic materials containing one or more derivatives of acrylic acid. The most common acrylic plastic is polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), which is sold under the brand names of Plexiglas, Lucite, Perspex, and Crystallite.

PMMA is a tough, highly transparent material with excellent resistance to ultraviolet radiation and weathering.

It can be colored, molded, cut, drilled, and formed. These properties make it ideal for many applications including windshields, skylights, point of purchase displays, and outdoor signs to mention a few.

Acrylic plastics are available in three forms: flat sheets or elongated shapes (rods and tubes).

Some benefits of Acrylics are that it's half the weight of glass, impact resistant and unaffected by sun or salt spray. Acrylic is easy to clean just wash with mild soap or detergent, with plenty of lukewarm water, dry with soft cloth or chamois.
